  • Attention 5th and 6th graders:  If you are interested in playing on a 5th and 6th grade boys basketball team, tryouts will be this afternoon from 1:00-2:30pm.  You will need a current sports physical and a signed insurance packet in order to tryout.  Please sign up in the office.

  • Attention basketball fans:  The boys basketball team will be hosting a Pack the Place event this Thursday for our game against Peoria Heights.  There will be a halftime shootout contest, a bake sale, and chuck-a-duck.  Admission is only $1 if you are wearing red or CEC gear.  Game time is 4:30pm.  Let’s pack the stands!  Hope to see you there.

  • Junior high students:  Now, you will have the option of staying inside for recess.  If you would prefer to stay inside, please report to the gym and sit on the bleachers.  Students will still have the option to go outside to the playground.  You will not, however, be able to move between inside and outside.  You will need to pick the gym or the playground and stay there for the entire recess period.  As always, you will not be allowed upstairs without a pass.  Make sure you bring your coat with you if you are going outside.

  • The canned food drive has been extended through Friday! 4th & 5th graders, drop off items in your classrooms. 6th-8th grades, drop off items in your English class! Items will be collected and counted each day. 4th grade is currently in the lead with 89 items! What grade level will bring enough to win a holiday party?!

  • Your character is what makes you unique.  Today’s character trait is perseverant.  To be perseverant means you take the attitude “I can do it, even when it’s tough” You do not give up or complain.  You don’t say “I can’t” or “it’s too hard”.    You continue to try despite something being hard.  If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!
