I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, and graduated from Western Illinois University with a Master of Arts in Music Education.

I taught 5-12 band at Yorkwood Jr./Sr. High School and Elementary beginning in 1982. From there I went to Mt. Zion High School and taught High School Band. I began teaching at I.V.C. as Assistant High School Band Director in 1988, and in 1989 began teaching 5-8 band at C.E.C.

About Me:

I grew up near Mossville and attended Mossville Grade School and I.V.C. High School. For fun and fitness I enjoy doing triathlons and long bike tours. I race pretty regularly and will race in Ironman Florida this fall. I’m doing this Ironman to honor my brother who died from brain cancer 5 years ago and to bring attention to the disease. I love gardening and animals and currently live on a farm with a bunch of horses, my Australian Shepherd Twist, and a smattering of cats.. I am currently an active member of the Peoria Triathlon Club and I play piccolo in the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, a post which I’ve had since 1988.
